Our lifelong learning programs – our Early Childhood Center, Religious School, Teen Programs & Adult Education – focus on building healthy relationships with ourselves, our community, and Jewish life. FAQ

  • Our Shabbat services are always open to everyone. If you plan on coming, let us know so we can look out for you! If you want time with our Rabbi, High Holy Day tickets, access to our lifelong learning programs, or simply to support an awesome Jewish community, check out our memership options.

  • Absolutely! Beth Shir Shalom creates space for all types of Jews. Our community has religious experiences for those seeking a more traditional model of Jewish community as well as programming, learning and celebrations for those seeking something more cultural.

  • Rabbi Alex Kress succeeded Rabbi Emeritus Neil Comess-Daniels in 2021. We do not have a cantor, but our temple is full of music!

  • Yes! We are a Reform congregation affiliated with the URJ.

  • We have an amazing, intimate BMitzvah program that adapts to each child. Students must be enrolled in their grade level for a minimum of 2.5 years before becoming BMitzvah, which includes weekly Hebrew learning. As their date approaches, they begin work with a tutor 1-on-1 for eight months leading up to their ceremony. A few months before their ceremony, they begin meeting with Rabbi Alex 1-on-1 to write their D’var Torah & prepare iyyunim (intros to prayers). Our BMitzvah ceremonies are warm, joyful celebrations of our amazing kids!
